This architectural delight is the quintessential Norwegian festival cake. It is the center of attention at weddings, anniversaries, baptismal celebrations and the Christmas table. It is made of almond macaroon rings of decreasing size stacked into a tower and often topped with a fresh rose, marzipan flowers or a small paper Norwegian flag.
