Chai is the Indian word for tea, and some of the world’s finest teas, including Assam and Darjeeling, are grown in India. A favorite way of enjoying tea in India is to serve it hot with spices, brown sugar and milk. This preparation is called Masala Chai in India, as the word masala refers to any food preparation which contains spices.
